Bio
I was born in Boston and grew up in the North Shore of Massachusetts. After high school, I attended Columbia College at Columbia University in the City of New York where I focused on computer science. At Columbia, I developed my passion for photography and became senior photographer of the major University publication, the Columbia Spectator. I was a member of the Alpha Delta Phi coeducational literary society, a member of the Muay Thai team, a volunteer for Community Impact, and held two senior student positions at Columbia University Information Technology (CUIT).
During my summers, I interned in the marketing department at AOL/Time Warner and interned abroad in Germany at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, where I developed internal software to manage support tickets for printing presses. One of my greatest challenges there was presenting my software to a board of professionals—with only a year and a half of German under my belt.
Living in New York City ignited a fascination with public transportation, and I began taking urban planning courses. After college, I began working as an assistant at Howard/Stein-Hudson Associates and eventually was promoted to the position of Transportation Planner (II). Interested in Industrial Design from a young age, I began taking night classes at Pratt Institute. When not trashing my apartment while building models out of insulation foam, the rest of my free time was devoted to boxing. I later decided to apply to the Institute of Design at IIT, where I ultimately hope to combine my interests in transportation, design, systems, communication, and planning in a way to create better solutions to the problems we face.
